The rand tracked a firmer euro on Tuesday morning amid waning concerns around Greece's debt woes.
At 09:00 the rand was bid at R7.3784 to the dollar from R7.3859 at its previous close. It was bid at R9.9808 to the euro from its previous close of R9.9692 and was at R11.0849 against the sterling from R11.0709.
The euro was bid at $1.3526 from $1.3476 previously.
A local trader said: "The rand is firm, tracking euro progress. Through R7.36 against the dollar, and we should go lower, with R7.44 being the high," he said.
