The South African Football Association's vice president Mandla “Shoes” Mazibuko, and popular Bafana supporter Saddam Maake, on Saturday brought home the best football supporters award from the Confederation of African Football awards ceremony.
South African supporters were voted the best on the African Continent in Accra, where the ceremony was held.
Mazibuko and Maake arrived to a carnival atmosphere on Saturday at the OR Tambo International Airport. Arriving to the sounds of Vuvuzela's and songs of victory, Mazibuko says the spirit of the 2010 FIFA World Cup is very much in the air.
“This should be a message to the Bafana Bafana supporters and the general public to now rally behind our national team. Go out there, support the team and wear your national team jersey,” said Mazibuko.
