Mel B and her husband are being sued for over $1.4 million for beating up a real estate appraiser.
The former Spice Girl - who was known as 'Scary Spice' during her years in the group - and her husband Stephen Belafonte are accused of beating up real estate appraiser Amado Aguirre after mistaking him for a paparazzi photographer.
The incident is said to have taken place last December when Amado was taking pictures of a house he needed to value when the couple and an employee, Amin Zahedi, intimidated him and physically injured him - leaving Amado with a broken hand and neck and back injuries.
According to gossip website TMZ, the plaintiff is demanding $350 000 in general damages, $35 000 in medical expenses and $100 000 for loss of future earnings, $1 million in punitive damages and $10 for lost earnings.
Mel B married Stephen in 2007 and currently lives in Los Angeles with her two children from previous relationships and her stepdaughter.
