Invictus actor Morgan Freeman's lucky charm for the Oscars is a tailor-made 46664 bangle.
The bangles were created by a social investment organisation that manufactures and distributes platinum, gold, silver and copper bangles engraved with Nelson Mandela's prison number, 46664.
Freeman, who has been nominated in the best actor category for his performance as Mandela in the locally shot film, will be wearing an "Invictus 46664" bespoke platinum version of the bracelet, decorated with emeralds and black diamonds.
Founder of the 46664 bracelet initiative, Robert Coutts, said the Academy Awards night will be one of the highlights of the initiative's history.
"Freeman will be wearing his bangle at one of the world's most highly publicised and prestigious events. His convincing portrayal of Nelson Mandela is what got him the nomination, and I believe that this is a fitting way to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Mandela's release," he said.
The 72-year-old actor is one of a select group, including mining magnate Patrice Motsepe and Invictus producer Lori McCreary, who own these bracelets.
Other celebrities owners include Oprah Winfrey, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, actor Will Smith and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
