'Mad Men' was named the Best Drama Series for a third year in a row at the Emmy Awards last night.
The TV show - which follows the employees of an advertising agency in 1960's New York - picked up the Best Drama prize and the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, won by Matthew Weiner and Erin Levy.
John Hamm, one of the starts of the show, said: "It was completely unexpected. The quality of the nominees this year was phenomenal."
'Glee' also picked up a number of awards, including Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series to Ryan Murphy and Outstanding
Supporting Actress in a Comedy series for Jane Lynch, who plays tough teacher Sue Sylvester. Upon accepting her award, Jane told the crowd at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles: "I want to thank my parents on the south side of Chicago for raising us to the sounds of musical theatre and being so unintentionally hilarious. I have to thank my Lord and creator Ryan Murphy for creating this role of a lifetime and the case who are so young and fresh-faced; and when I'm not seething with jealousy, I'm so proud of you."
Other winners on the night included Claire Danes, who won the Outstanding Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her role in 'Temple Grandin' and Bryan Cranston won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in 'Breaking Bad'.
