Mitsubishi has launched its fourth-generation Pajero, with upgraded diesel engines that lift power and torque, while also adding a five-speed automatic gearbox. Styling and dimensions remain unchanged.
The changes result in improved driveability and better fuel economy, and see the Pajero 3.2 DI-DC with 140 kW of power and 441 Nm of torque, up from 121 kW/373 Nm.
Most of the power lift comes from modifications to the cylinder head, injectors and turbo-charger, and not only is this new engine quieter than the previous model, it is also both cleaner and more economical, giving improved CO2 emissions which are reduced to 245 gm/km from the previous 274 gm/km.
Retained in the new model is the Super Select 4WD-II transfer case with both ASTC (Active Stability Traction Control) and the rear differential lock (available on GLX LWB only).
