The bodies of a mother and her six-month old son, who were swept away by flash floods in Phomolong near Tembisa, have been recovered.
The 34-year-old woman and her son went missing on Monday.
The Ekurhuleni Emergency Services and the South African Police Services Search and Rescue Team found the bodies 4km away in Esangweni.
The boy’s father saw the two victims swept away by flood water.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has in the meantime relocated other families that were threatened by the flooding to the Phomolong Clinic, Community Hall and the local youth centre as an interim measure. - BuaNews
