No shortage of vaccines in Jo'burg

Despite concerned parents reporting a lack of vaccines at Johannesburg clinics, the city says there is no shortage of critical medicines in the area.

Councillor Pat Brugman-Richards reacted to media reports this afternoon by saying all essential inoculations are available and ready to be distributed to clinics. “The Rotavirus vaccine, which is used to help fight diarrhoea, comes from America and is kept in quarantine for a time.

“This was released today and is ready for distribution to the clinics.”

Brugman-Richards says if patients are not receiving the treatment they need, they are to inform the clinic’s management or the provincial health department.
