Vodacom cuts prepaid rates

Vodacom, South Africa's leading cellular network, says prepaid customers will from today pay 2.8 cents per second, which equates to R1.70 per minute.

“By lowering the All Day Prepaid call rates our customers can pay less and talk more at any time of the day when calling Vodacom family and friends – they don’t have to wait for off-peak times to make that important call," says Shameel Joosub, Managing Director, Vodacom South Africa.

With the Prepaid All Day tariff, per second billing applies and customers can make calls at the same affordable rate all day – no more Peak and Off-Peak rates.

All Vodacom Prepaid customers can take advantage of the Prepaid All Day tariff plan by changing to this option, using FreeChange as follows:

Call 1181, free from a Vodacom cellphone. Remember, customers can change between any of the Vodacom Prepaid tariff plans once every 30 days, for FREE.
Alternatively, customers can dial *111# free from their Vodacom cellphones (press *111#, then the call button, and select the FreeChange option – follow the prompts).
