Proteas lose two early wickets

big_imageAshwell Prince (0) and Graeme Smith (6) are back in the pavilion after South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first against India in Nagpur.

After fifteen overs of the first Test in the two-match series, the Proteas have 29 for the loss of two, with Jacques Kallis (5) and Hashim Amla (9) batting now. The wicket looks good for batting.

Prince was unlucky after he was given out caught-behind. Replays showed that the short-pitched delivery came off his armguard. Smith, however, left a gap between bat and pad; his uprooted stumps left no doubt about his dismissal.

The Indian spinners have already started bowling.
India was hit by another injury this morning when Rohit Sharma had to withdraw after the morning warmup. VVS Laxman is not playing and Wriddhiman Saha is making his Test debut.

South Africa has included Paul Harris in their team for a slow-bowling option.

The match is not generating a lot of excitement in India, with only a scattering of spectators showing up for the start of the match in Nagpur.
