India has lost two wickets on the fourth morning of the first Test against South Africa in Nagpur, but Sachin Tendulkar is still standing firm, with 74 of India's 154 second innings runs.
Paul Harris struck first for the Proteas this morning, getting Murali Vijai (32) to sweep the ball into the hands of Morne Morkel.
The second wicket fell to Wayne Parnell, who got Subramaniam Badrinath through a fine edge that went through to Mark Boucher behind the stumps. Badrinath added only six runs to the Indian score.
But Tendulkar is masterful. He has scored his 74 runs in 118 balls and does not look troubled by the South African attack. The batsmen around him, however, must be a cause for some concern as several edges went past the South African wicketkeeper and slips this morning. Boucher is keeping wicket despite a back injury.
The Proteas scored 558 for six in their first innings, with big contributions from Hashim Amla (253*) and Jacques Kallis (173). Yesterday India was bowled out for 233, with Dale Steyn claiming seven wickets in the innings.
South Africa needs to win the series to become the number-one ranked Test side in the world.
