Both centurions are out

big_imageAlviro Petersen (100) and Hashim Amla (114) are out with South Africa’s score on 232 for three on the first day of the second Test against India in Kolkata.

Petersen, who scored his century on debut, was out shortly before tea after the Indian bowlers started changing their length and peppered especially Amla with short-pitched deliveries. Just after reaching his milestone hundred, Petersen knicked one on a good length to MS Dhoni behind the wickets.

After tea, the short-pitched stuff continued to Amla and he was also caught by Dhoni.

South Africa won the toss and elected to field this morning. Graeme Smith was out for four when he was again bowled by Zaheer Khan, but Amla and Petersen put on 209 for the second wicket.

Petersen is in the side for Mark Boucher, who has a back injury. AB de Villiers, now batting with Jacques Kallis, is likely to take the gloves when South Africa fields.
