Roger Federer of Switzerland has lost to Tomas Berdych of Czechoslovakia in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon.
The six-time champion lost in four sets to the 12th seeded Czech; 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 on
Wednesday. The victory was the biggest ever for Berdych.
It's the first time since 2002 that Federer has failed to reach the final. He had been bidding for a record-tying seventh Wimbledon title.
