Shortly after Ford showed its new Ranger 4x4 pickup at the Sydney Motor Show, Mazda unveiled its BT-50 interpretation.
It was developed as an "Active lifestyle vehicle," and is intended to further extend the appeal of a utility from traditional business users to a wide range of customers, including families and pleasure-seekers.
In developing the new model, Mazda says it intends to expand its appeal to customers who lead active lifestyles and have needs that cannot be met by conventional pickups.
The result is extraordinary, grafting the "smiley face" of Mazda's latest car range onto "tough truck" bodywork.
At the same time it gets a comfortable, high quality interior, a smooth ride with the feel of a passenger car; sporty and responsive driving dynamics that reflect Mazda's DNA, and good environmental and safety performance.
Expect the vehicle in SA towards the end of next year.
