Getty ImagesTeam South Africa has nabbed five medals at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

On Tuesday, Natalie du Toit and Chad le Clos won gold in the women's 50m freestyle event and men's 200m butterfly while Richard Addinall and Bella-Lufa Hughes won silver in wrestling events.

A bronze medal was earned by the men's 4x100m freestyle relay team made up of Graeme Moore, Gideon Louw, Roland Schoeman and Darian Townsend.

Du Toit won in 29.17, which is a new Games Record, but she was closely followed by Australia's Annebelle Williams. The win completed a treble for du Toit, who won the event in Manchester in 2002 and Melbourne in 2006.

According to Sascoc, du Toit is swimming in her final Commonwealth Games and is expected to retire after the 2012 London Olympics.

In netball, England crushed South Africa's medal prospects on Tuesday with a comprehensive 54-36 win. The spread on an English win was 19 points.

All the South African wrestlers were in action on Tuesday, as are the men's hockey team against Canada, while South Africa also has an interest in lawn bowls, archery, table tennis, gymnastics and cycling. The results of these events are not available yet.
