South Africa beat Zimbabwe by eight runs in Kimberley yesterday to clinch the two-match series.
Johan Botha won the toss and elected to bat. Graeme Smith, who was not wearing the captain’s hat yesterday, looked to be in fine form, hitting 46 of 32 balls to give the home team a good start.
JP Duminy was the star batsman, however, with 96 off 73 balls.
South Africa amassed 194 in their 20 overs on a flat wicket and some ordinary Zimbabwean bowling.
The flat pitch were there for the Zimbabweans as well and the home team's bowlers did not do much better, as the visitors at stages looked as if they were going to reach the 195 needed for victory.
Brendan Taylor (59 off 66) and Chamu Chibhabha (59 off 44) looked especially good against the South African attack.
In the end the Protea total was a bridge-too-far and Duminy was named man of the match.
