Australia won the toss and elected to bat in the 5th ODI against India in Hyderabad, a decision that saw the underdogs put up 350/4 in 50 overs.
Every one of the five visiting batsmen that held the bat had a good time at the wicket, with Shane Watson (93 off 89) and Shaun Marsh (112 at a run-a-ball) topping the scores. The openers put on 145 for the first Australian wicket.
Ricky Ponting made 45 from 45 balls, Cameron White struck 57 off 33 and Michael Hussey added an unbeaten 31 off 22 balls. White was out with the last ball of the innings.
The Indian bowlers bled runs and it was only Harbhajan Singh that managed to keep his figures under five runs to the over.
Praveen Kumar took two wickets, but at a cost of 68 runs in his nine overs.
The series is tied at two matches each, with two more matches to be played after today’s match.
